നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ അധികാരത്തിന് യോജിക്കില്ലെന്ന് കരുതുന്നവരാണ് യൂറോപ്പ് ദുര്‍ബലമാകാന്‍ താത്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നതെന്നും യൂറോപ്പിനെ ദുര്‍ബലമാക്കുന്നവരെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണ് മസ്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്നും ഹാബെക് തന്റെ പുതുവത്സര പ്രസംഗത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഓള്‍ട്ടര്‍നേറ്റീവ് ഫോര്‍ ജര്‍മനി പാര്‍ട്ടിയാണ് ജര്‍മനിയുടെ അവസാന പ്രതീക്ഷയെന്നായിരുന്നു വെല്‍റ്റ് ആം സോന്റാഗ് പത്രത്തിനു നല്‍കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തില്‍ മസ്ക് അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടത്. ഇത് വിവാദമായതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ലേഖനം തയ്യാറാക്കിയ കമന്ററി എഡിറ്റര്‍ക്ക് രാജിവെക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു.
